Excerpts:
“Hello, how’re you?” It was the bat who spoke. The voice was somewhat squeaky but quite clear.
“Oh, you can speak too?”Almyra asked as if she was talking to her best friend.
“Oh, he’s like Ozzie, the talking owl,” Micky was excited.
“She,” said the bat rather sternly, “I’m female. My friend is the only talking owl in the world and his name’s Pasha, not Ozzie.”

Sona told her she had been worried when she and Micky didn’t come to the park for three days and had decided to find out... She had brought her friend, Pasha with her and the magic carpet as she thought they could come in handy in case of an emergency. Almyra briefly told them what had happened and how happy she was to see them.

“ Whenever I lost faith in myself or felt low, I would think of the story she used to tell us of how Jesus’ disciples, when they asked him why they couldn’t do what he did, he replied, ‘ Because of your unbelief,’ and added they could even move mountains if they had faith…”

The short, slight Majid spoke...
“One day a poor man brought a bunch of grapes for the Prophet. He had one, two and then the whole bunch, one grape at a time without offering any to his companions. Seeing the prophet Muhammad eating all the grapes, the poor man left happily. After he had left, his companions wanted to know why he had not offered them any grapes as he always did. ‘The grapes were sour,’ said the prophet, ‘if I had offered them to you, someone out of you might not have hidden the fact and would have embarrassed the man.’ He went on to say that he did not want that to happen which is why he had all the sour grapes.”
